Scattering Stones

Final Spring’s bespoke hand-sized Scattering Stones are made of biodegradable polymers and seaweed extracts, within which we embed the cremains. Instead of spilling out ashes into a sea breeze at the beach during a scattering, families can skip stones of their lost loved one out into the ocean, knowing they’ll dissolve and disperse their embedded ashes into the water over time … and not blow back all over those attending the ceremony.

Comes in sets of three (3) stones; additional individual stones available. Packaged in biodegradable clear wrapping to keep the stones from degrading before they’re scattered.

Available with full personalization (Name, DOB/DOD, Saying) as well as Symbol Adornments.

Scattering Stones are easy to fill. Each Stone comes with a removable drawer in which you place the cremains. But if you’d like us to fill them for you, please contact the crematory you’re using and instruct them to send the cremains to:

If you have not already selected a funeral home or cremation service, we recommend cremstar.com for customers located in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. If you order from Cremstar, they will fill your Scattering Stones with your loved one’s cremains at no extra charge.
Final Spring will confirm receipt and provide you with an estimate to completion once the ashes arrive. The process generally takes 24 hours or less to complete, but you should factor in shipping time as well.

Cremains that are not used in the creation of the Scattering Stones will be scattered anonymously in our scattering garden in the Hudson Highlands. The process generally takes 24 hours or less to complete, but you should factor in shipping time as well.
